Quick Note

Hey! Some of the words on the posts turned red and lead to links. This was not intended. No idea why it is doing that. Please ignore that detail. Thanks for reading and marking blocking in your scripts!!!

If you have any questions about any of the blocking please send me an email. wearehisplayers@gmail.com

IMPORTANT!

Hi Everyone!
I missed you on Monday! Hope you tired some of the tongue twisters and are staying WARM:)

Those of you who were to come on Monday would have learned your characters' basic blocking (Entrances and Exits). I would have liked to do this in person but we can make it happen from home!

Grab your SCRIPT and a PENCIL and scroll through each post Act 1, Act 2, Act 3, and Act 4. Find your character/your name along with the page number and write down your entrances and exits!

Tongue Twisters

We can train our tongues by twisting it. We can give it difficult phrases to say, and see how loud and clearly it will respond. The more difficult phrases it learns to say the less likely it will slip over a less difficult line in your script. Practice the following at home!

Unique New York, You need Unique New York
Flora’s freshly fried fish.
Buy blue blueberry biscuits before bedtime.
Toy boat. Toy boat. Toy boat.
Cooks cook cupcakes quickly.
Which wrist watches are Swiss wrist watches?
Red Leather, Yellow Leather
I thought a thought. But the thought I thought wasn’t the thought I thought I thought.

No Practice Today

There will be no practice today because of the weather!

Everyone please stay warm and safe.

I will post this week about plans for Monday the 4th.

This is a great time to memorize your lines:)

Weather Concern for Monday

Good evening!

I'm sure all of you are watching the weather and like the rest of us are wondering what tomorrow brings. It is never easy to make the call to cancel (H.I.S. Players doesn't have scheduled snow days:)

Here is the plan for tomorrow.
At this time, I am cancelling practice on Monday the 28th.
However, keep in mind that the schools close due to starting in the morning. If for some reason we don't get as much snow as predicted, it gets cleaned up by early afternoon, and the conditions are favorable - we may reinstate the practice at a later time. I hope to post a decision around noon for a 1:30 PM practice time for those who can attend.

Keep an eye on the blog tomorrow around noon.

Hello everyone! It was good to be together during our first practice!!! We did make some headway - getting to hear each other's voices, learning emotion, learning more about the script, and more!

PICTURES: It was very nice to have Mrs. Schmickle take all the bio pics in one day! Thank you everyone for your cooperation! (I know you also got a really nice break - so it wasn't that hard:) THANK YOU Mrs. Schmickle!

PRONUNCIATIONS: I have posted some of the biblical words and pronunciations (that came up today) to a previous post! If you say any of those words in your lines- do look them up. Any other words that you say from the glossary list - do look them up!

Be proactive - NOW! Don't memorize your lines and then try to fix it! That's like retraining your brain - ugh:( (email me with questions!!!)

Good stuff ahead! Work your lines! & Work your lines some more!!!
